Arunachal Pradesh celebrates womanhood with city-wide marathon
ITANAGAR, Jan 24:A state level workshop on national biodiversity action plan, targets and sixth national reports to convention of biological diversity was held today at State Forest Research Institute, Van Vihar, Chimpu.
The conference was organized with an objective to prepare state’s input for India’s 6th national report to the CBD secretariat to be submitted to the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, New Delhi.
In his address, PCCF and principal secretary (E&F), Omkar Singh highlighted the importance of biodiversity management committee and their role in biodiversity conservation.
Director, SFRI cum Member Secretary APBB, Dusu Shra requested the participants to give vivid information about programmes and projects of their organizations related to biodiversity conservation in areas like agriculture, forest, fisheries, tourism etc.
Research officer, Kenjum Bagra threw light on the activities undertaken by state biodiversity board for successful implementation of provision under BD Act 2002. Head, Zoological Survey of India, Dr B Sinha presented on national biodiversity action plan with targets including reports of sixth national convention on biodiversity.
