PASIGHAT, Aug 26 : Deputy Commissioner, East Siang, Sonalika Jiwani, chaired the monthly DDR-cum-District Level Monitoring Committee (DLMC) meeting at Pasighat, today.
The meeting reviewed the District Development Report for July 2026, along with the progress and status of developmental works being implemented by various departments and executing agencies.
Emphasising the need for better coordination among departments, the Deputy Commissioner said the DDR-cum-DLMC platform should be effectively utilised to discuss inter-departmental issues and resolve bottlenecks affecting the execution of government infrastructure projects. She urged all HoDs to attend such meetings with proper grip of the progress and status of works under their respective departments.
The DC also directed the concerned authorities to expedite the handing-over and taking-over process of administrative areas affected by the creation of Lower Siang district, so that administrative jurisdiction and responsibilities are clearly established.
She further directed all executing agencies to ensure timely coordination with the Power Department upon completion of government buildings and infrastructure for necessary electrification and commissioning.
The Deputy Commissioner also instructed executing agencies to take appropriate action against contractors who consistently underperform or fail to complete assigned works within the stipulated time, including termination of contracts as per applicable rules and procedures.
The meeting concluded with discussions on other developmental and administrative matters, with the Deputy Commissioner calling upon all departments and agencies to work in close coordination and synergy for timely completion of projects and effective delivery of public services. DIPRO
