PASIGAHT, Mar 8:Historic Sissen village which made headlines for boycotting the 2014 general election demanding road connectivity today has been connected to the rest of the world. Former East Arunachal Loksabha MP and present BJP State President, Tapir Gao inaugurated the much awaited “Sissen to Leying Rural Link Road” on the occasion of Aaran festival in presence of MLAs Tapang Taloh and Olom Panyang and villagers.

Naturally blessed Sissen village is known for highest agri & horti produce in the Siang belt but so far lacked road communication.

Soon after inauguration, Gao while attending a public meeting said that rural economy plays a significant role in our overall economy as it has a very high potential in terms of labour and natural resources, which are the basic inputs in production process.

‘The state government is committed to connect every nook and corner of the state with nearest headquarters by providing road connectivity,’ he said adding that the present state government led by Chief Minister, Pema Khandu is committed to provide all basic amenities like safe drinking water, road connectivity, electricity, health, education besides better lanes and drains to the people across the state.

Gao appealed the leaders and villager to be partner of development process rising above political affiliations. He released a CD, “Dusbin Lo Gelit To” (Throw in dustbin), Lyrics by Tajir Siram and Sung by Neptili Mengu on the occasion and appreciated the cleanliness maintained by the villagers under Swachh Bharat Mission.

Earlier, MLAs Tapang Taloh and Olom Panyang also appreciated the courage and efforts of the villagers. Responding to a memorandum submitted by Tajir Siram on behalf of Pongging, Sissen, Pangi and Nuggong Banggo, MLA Taloh gave sanction of “Sissen to Reklak via Pongging” road which would shorten road communication. Taloh said that provisioning of basic infrastructure facilities would help in tapping the vast resources in the rural areas therefore, the gaps in rural infrastructure need to be addressed properly so as to achieve optimal growth and alleviate poverty.
