ITANAGAR, Feb 03:

Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju lauded the yeoman services rendered by the Ramakrishna Mission and Math in the field of social upliftment and education throughout India and assured his all out support to the institution.

Attending the golden jubilee celebration of Ramakrishna Mission School Aalo, chief guest Rijiju hailed the school as one of best schools of the state producing many stalwarts who are handling the mantle of state administration.

The 4-day long celebration got off to a colourful start with lighting of lamp and vedic chanting on February 2.


He also released a souvenir titled ‘The Blossoming of Rama Krishna Mission in Aalo.’ The pioneers of the school Boken Ete, Tapang Taki and late Tumpak Ete were honoured with presentation of shawls by Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj for their selfless contribution for the growth of the school. The School Management Committee was also honoured on the occasion.

Brigadier C Dayalan, Commander 5 Mountain Brigade and host of senior Swamijis in Gautamanandaji Girishanandaji and Atmavidhananda from different parts of the country were present.

Minister Education Honchun Ngandam and Minister Tourism, Tax and Excise Jarkar Gamlin attended day two of the celebration.

Ngandam in his speech said that RKM and VKVs are doing wonderfully well to spread Swami Vivekananda’s message of man-making 
and character building by imparting quality education throughout the nation. He assured 
all possible help and assistance to the Mission and exhorted the Monastic members, teachers, alumni and students to put united effort to 
keep up the good work.

Gamlin hailed RK Mission School as the 
pride of the state which produced many luminaries of the state.

A book titled ‘Sister Nivedita for Children’ was also released.


Swami Gautamanandaji, Vice President Rama Krishna Math and Mission, Swami Sukatmanandaji and Swami Kripamayananda from Canada also dwelt on memorable moments and associations with the school.

Senior most teacher, TK Saha, Alumni Kaling Jerang and Gijum Tali also dwelt on memories and rich anecdotes associated with the school.

Swami Divya Vodananda Maharaj, 
Assistant Secretary RKM also spoke on the occasion.
