ITANAGAR, May 2: A wave of strong public discontent swept through the capital as members of the Chimpu VKV School Parents Group staged a protest at IG Park, raising their collective voice against what they termed an “abrupt and unjustified” hike in admission fees.
Holding a banner, scores of parents gathered in unity, expressing deep concern over the growing financial burden on families. The protest reflects mounting frustration among parents who claim the sudden fee revision lacks transparency and fairness.
The group placed a series of clear demands before authorities and the school management. Foremost among them is the immediate lowering of admission fees, which they say has become increasingly unaffordable. They also called for the introduction of an installment-based fee payment system to ease financial strain on households.
Another key concern raised was the lack of prior communication regarding fee changes. Protesters insisted that timely intimation must be made mandatory to ensure parents are not caught off guard. Additionally, the group strongly advocated for the implementation of a regulated and uniform policy governing fee structures across all VKV schools in Arunachal Pradesh to prevent arbitrary hikes.
