ITANAGAR, May 11:Minister, Trade & Commerce, Wangki Lowang chaired a review meeting with the officers of the department today which was also attended by Parliamentary Secretary, Trade & Commerce Tesam Pongte.
Lowang urged the departmental officers to take up departmental specific schemes like re-activation of feasible border trade points, establishment of Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and Agri-Horti Export Zone (AEZ) in the feasible and strategic locations in the foothill areas, other trade facilitation infrastructure etc. to boost the trade and export of the state. He also advised the officers to visit and study the successful operation of Industrial Estate being maintained by other North Eastern states like Tripura.
Pongte, also advised the officers to work unitedly and cohesively for the overall progress of the department. He also urged the officers to maintain cordial relation among themselves to create a congenial working atmosphere so that all the targets of the schemes are achieved in time.
Earlier, Tokong Pertin, Director, Trade & Commerce briefed all the activities and various schemes being undertaken by the department.
