ITANAGAR, Nov 1:A day after the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee sought the resignation of Chief Minister Pema Khandu on fake appointment of multipurpose workers (MPW) in the health department, the state government today   termed  it a ‘cheap publicity stunt’ which is unbecoming of the oldest National Political Party.

When the matter pertaining to issue of fake appointment letters came to the light, then immediately directions were issued to the Department of Health Services by Chief Minister for lodging FIR in the concern Police Station. Accordingly a complaint was lodged in Naharlagun Police Station by Director Health Services on October 24th 2017. And the Police also swiftly took action and registered a case no. 162/17 u/s 468/471 IPC dated 24/10/2017, said government spokesperson Bamang Felix.

The Police has been directed to expedite the investigation and book the person(s) found involved in the instant case. It has further been directed that strict action against all the culprits must be ensured and nobody however big he/she is spared in this matter, he said.

Reiterating the government’s stand towards zero tolerance on nepotism, favouritism and corrupt practices, Felix said anybody found guilty shall be taken to task according to the laid down government rules and the law of the land.

Until and unless the investigation is complete and people involved are rounded up, it is  immature on the part of the country’s oldest National Political Party to draw any conclusion which is frivolous and baseless, he added.

It appears that the APCC has completely run out of  issues and has therefore gone down to the extent of picking up random cases which are drawn from the figment of their imagination.

Dragging the relatives to tarnish the CM’s image is nothing but cheap publicity stunt which truly is unbecoming on the part of the leaders of the oldest National Political Party. Instead of indulging in blame game, APCC should concentrate more on becoming a constructive opposition by joining hands with the Government for making Arunachal Pradesh a vibrant state.

In the last one year we have not seen the Congress party making any positive suggestion to the government which is in the larger interest of people except for indulging in baseless blame game, the statement added.

Demand for Khandu’s resignation absurd, says BJP

ITANAGAR, Nov 1:Coming in support of CM Pema Khandu, the state Bharatiya Janata Party today termed the APCC’s demand for his resignation as absurd.

How can the Chief Minister resign on any issue which has nothing to do with the functioning of CM’s office and calling for his immediate resignation does  not carry any weightage, said Chief Spokesperson & State Vice President Adv. Dominic Tadar in a release.

It is the Congress which practically looted the state resources for almost 40 years in the state. The present BJP government under the khandu along with his strong council of ministers is trying hard to put things in order, the release added.

As for the fake circulation of appointment letters for the post of  MPWs in the department of health, an FIR is already filed in the Naharlagun Police Station on October 23 last by Health and Family Welfare Special Secretary, Dr Tapasya Raghav and Director of Health Services, Dr M Lego, claiming that “fake appointment orders” of Multi-Purpose Workers (MPWs), bearing signatures of higher officials, are in circulation and the police is seriously working to unearth the whole truth and nab the culprit at the earliest, he said.

The state BJP government which has taken a vow to wipe out corruption from the state will not tolerate this kind of fake appointments to fool the people and the culprits if found shall be given exemplary punishment, the release stated.
