AALO, Sep 26: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General KT Parnaik (Retd.) visited the District Tuberculosis Centre, Aalo, West Siang District on Thursday. He inspected every room of the centre, including LaQshya certified labour room and Operation Theatre. The District TB Centre, is the nodal point for tuberculosis (TB) control activities in the district i.e. West Siang, Lower Siang, Leparada, Shi Yomi and Siang District (From Kaying to Rumgong).
Continuing his effort in eradication of Tuberculosis from the State and as a ‘Nikshay Mitra', the Governor adopted two patients from West Siang District. It is an initiative where the Nikshay Mitra supports the tuberculosis patients by providing nutritional, additional diagnostic, and vocational support.
Addressing health officials, the Governor said that Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi made a commitment to eliminate tuberculosis (TB) from India by 2025, as the rest of the world aimed to achieve the TB-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) targets by 2030. He appealed to the people to join hands to realize the commitment of the Prime Minister.
Parnaik exhorted the health officials to put in a concerted effort to promote healthy lifestyles amongst the people, create health-related awareness and use technologies to analyze better and plan. He commended the doctors, nurses and paramedics for contributing to social reforms in the health centers, with the spirit of ‘care and share’.
District Medical Officer, Dr. Dubom Bagra, Medical Superintendent, Zonal General Hospital, Aalo and Dr. Karken Rina, District Tuberculosis Officer, Dr. Nyade Padu Bagra briefed the Governor about the TB and health related issues of the District.
The Governor later visited the Ayushman arogya Mandir, Darka, which received the National Level NQAS Certification from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The Governor commended the health officials for their dedication and yeoman services.
District Reproductive and Child Health Officer, Dr. Tomar Kamki briefed the Governor about the facility. He said that to ensure that every citizen receives quality health services, National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) were developed for District Hospitals, Community Health Centres, Rural and Urban Primary Healthcare Centres, and Ayushman Arogya Mandir (Sub Centres) with the goal of full compliance by 2026.
