ITANAGAR, May 9: Expressing resentment over the delaying tactics regarding various development projects in the Nyishi inhabited areas, the Nyishi Elite Society (NES) on Tuesday charged the state government for its lackadaisical attitude toward the community.

Addressing the press conference, President NES Bengia Tolum said that the present government is showing indifference towards all existing and already assured projects in Nyishi inhabited areas.

Referring to the proposal of the Nyishi Heritage Village at Yazali, which was sanctioned, Tolum said despite repeated representation the project is still going nowhere and authorities are delaying the matter. He also claimed that the site inspection for the said project held on April 29 last was undertaken by expired committee and without involving the actual local Panchayat leaders.

While reiterating their demands, for early creation of Pakke-Kessang and Khamle districts, the NES asserted that during Golden Jubilee Boori Boot Yullo Celebration on February 5 last at Raga, CM Pema Khandu  himself assured  for  creation of Khamle district  but till date no action has been initiated.

NES Chief also added that Tali ADC headquarters, one of the oldest administrative headquarters established in 1957 is yet to be connected by road or bridge. ‘We had submitted series of memorandum to the Chief Minister for construction of bridge over Kumey river but nothing has been done yet,’ he said.

The NES also requested the government to address long-pending demand of alternate road connectivity from Itanagar-Golloso -Tarasso-Seijosa and Bhalukpong without touching Assam.
