DEED, Dec 9: A day long surprise inspection of  schools and Primary Health Centers of Deed and Pistana circles was carried out today by Deputy Commissioner Lower Subansiri along with officials.
DC Somcha Lowang accompanied by DMO Dr Tage Kanno, DDSE Tabia Chobin, CO Pistana N Bui visited Radphu,Talo and Deed Primary Health Centers. Taking  note of the dilapidated infrastructures of Deed and Radhpu Primary health centers, the DC assured to take up the matter immediately with the concerned departments.
The team also inspected the 50-bed Primary Health Center at Pistana where they  interacted with the healthcare staff.
DC also inspected the Ekhataya Upper Primary, Kugi Tago Residential school, Radhpu middle school and Pistana secondary school  of Pistana and Deed circles. She interacted with the students and teachers of all these schools and took note of the problems faced by them like electrification, water shortage,subject teacher shortage etc.

On finding  Ekha Taya Upper Primary school locked and not functioning with the teacher incharge of the school in Itanagar, she directed  DDSE Lower Subansiri Tabia Chobin to close down the school and the existing teachers of the school  be transferred to other  functioning schools.
"The education and health sectors are partners in promoting adolescents healthy development.More years of schooling are associated with better health outcomes at the individual and population levels. At the same time poor health compromises the education of children and adolescents," she said while interacting with the teachers , BEOs, Goan Buras and medical staff at Pistana during her last leg of  inspection.
