ITANAGAR, Dec 28: Leelalu Chai, a sub vendor of Network for Spectrum (NFS) Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) link work has claimed that the A2Z Infra Engineering Limited Company has not paid her due amount of Rupees 1.2 Crore for the work.
She appealed to the state government to constitute a committee to resolve the matter as soon as possible. Failing to address her grievances, Chai said, she will be left with no way but to go for democratic movement.
Earlier, Chai had been on a three days hunger strike at Tezu demanding for her money and also the state government to initiate action against the company. She has also written letters to the Defense Minister of India, Chief Minister Pema Khandu and the Lohit district administration but there has been no response to it.
Addressing the media persons at the press club here today, Chai said that she took up the NFS OFC link work of 50km in Anjaw district in the year 2015. However, she discontinued the work after completion of linkage for around 33km in the year 2018.
She said the discontinuity in the work was because of the extreme challenges like financial, topographical and non-payment of the amount by company.
“I have been asking the company to pay me for the work done for 33kms.
The only payment received so far was a running bill of Rupees 16 lakhs and 13 Lakhs, which was also used for same work later,” she said, adding that in the year 2021 after a lot of struggle, the security deposit amount of Rupees 20 Lakhs was returned.
Chai further claimed that the current pending amount is around Rupees 1.2Crore (approx), which the company is reluctant to pay till today. Instead the company has filed a case in High Court, New Delhi against her.
“More surprisingly, the CEO of the company, Rajesh Jain claims that I have to be paid only Rupees 2 Lakhs, to which I don’t understand on what terms I owe that meagre amount after investing almost crores of my money for the work,” she added.
Meanwhile, All Arunachal NFS Sub- Vendors Association Convenor Riba Jomoh said a bill amount of Rupees 300crore is yet to be paid to the sub vendors of the state. He said the vendors association has been fighting for the same since one year but is yet to get justice.
He said multinational companies are hard to handle in such cases of non-payment of money. Therefore, he appealed the state government to interfere in the case and accordingly solve the matter for the greater interest of sub vendors of state.
