PASIGHAT, Mar 7: A 3-day capacity building training programme titled “Rainwater harvesting and its management for horticultural crops” was inaugurated today at the College of Horticulture and Forestry, Central Agricultural University, Pasighat. The training is sponsored by Director Extension Education, Central Agricultural University, Imphal, Manipur and ATARI (ICAR), Barapani, Meghalaya. The course aims to upgrade the skill and knowledge of participants with the latest advancement in rain water harvesting structures, their design & construction, soil & water management techniques, importance of soil testing and cultivation package of practices of horticultural crops.
32 trainees including line department officials and SMs of KVK, Upper Siang and KVK, Anjaw are taking part in the programme.
