PASIGHAT, Oct 11:  Officials from Air India and Jet Airways based in Kolkata inspected the ground readiness of the domestic terminal of Advance Landing Ground, Pasighat on Tuesday to facilitate early passenger flight services.

Officials of District Administration and Civil Supply accompanied the visiting team during the ground inspection. While the visiting team found all the readiness up to the mark but suggestion was made to establish a luggage conveyor belt for arrivals.

District Food & Civil Supply Officer, B. Pertin,  who informed that, a waiting shed with 3 rooms for canteen and security personnel needs to be constructed.  

While the executing agency PWD lamented at the lack of funds. However, expectations are high that flight services will start soon.

Earlier, information were around of only small flights from regional airline  like Zoom Airways would fly from here, but Air India and Jet Airways has also shown keen interest as Pasighat is likely to have huge rush of fliers from all 5 Siang Districts including Lower Dibang valley and  parts of Dhemaji district, Assam.

Meanwhile, DC Pasighat, Tamiyo Tatak who held a meeting with the visiting officials on Tuesday afternoon has assured to extend all possible assistance to Air India and Jet Airways in making the services start soon. While talking to this reporter, officials of Air India hinted of starting the services as and when technical clearance are given which is likely to be completed by November-December.
