TEZU, May 18

Taking serious note of absenteeism across health centres of Tezu and Wakro circles, the Lohit administration has announced to soon develop a mobile app to tackle the menace unauthorized absences. The proposed app will also track the attendance of teachers and other staffers in schools. It is pertinent to mention here that the DC along with administrative officers had earlier made numbers of surprise inspections to schools and had issued show cause notices to erring teachers.

The decision comes after DC Danish Ashraf along with CO (Dev) Une Pertin today made number of surprise visits to Primary Health Centres (PHC), Community Health Centres (CHC) and Sub Centres of Tezu and Wakro Circle in a bid to get an accurate picture of the functioning of various health centres in the district.

During these inspections, the DC checked the attendance of all the staff members and took serious exception to any unauthorized absences. Many staff were found absent from their place of duty without proper leave application. Most of the health centres were also found running without adequate staff. Moreover, more than half of these health centres were found closed before their official timing.

Furthermore, the app will also feature means to track status of Midday Meal facilities in schools. It will use GPS location of each teacher, doctor and medical staff to generate a monthly report showing the performance of all the schools and health centres in the district. The App will be embedded in the already developed "APNA LOHIT" App.
