ITANAGAR, Nov 12: The 29th State level National Children Science Congress, 2021 was inaugurated today by Ajay Chagti, Secretary, Science & Technology at Arunachal Pradesh Science Centre, Itanagar in presence of C.D. Mungyak, Director cum Member Secretary, A.P. State Council for Science & Technology.
Total 73 projects by child scientists --24 boys and 49 girls selected at district level from 25 districts including Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) are participating in the  two day Vigan Utsav from November 12-13.
 The programme was organized by A.P. State Council for Science & Technology, Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, and catalyzed & supported by NCSTC, DST, Government of India, New Delhi.
National Children's Science Congress (NCSC) is a flagship programme of National Council for Science & Technology Communication (NCSTC), that encourages children to have inquiry based learning and motivates to develop scientific temperament and perform small research activities at micro level.  It was made as a platform for children since 1993 in the country to search for the best science talents and to inculcate a scientific temper and initiate a culture of rational scientific exploration among children to seek scientific solutions for common local problems. The theme of this year is Science for Sustainable Living.
In his inaugural speech while interacting with students, Ajay Chagti highlighted the importance of NCSC stating that it is a platform for discovering talents to fortify the future of Arunachal. This platform is not only about the project but it is a continuous process of development at macro level, he said.  He also stressed on the use of artificial intelligence (AI), machine Learning and Internet of things (IOT), to sustain in the technology driven world which is the need of hour. He highlighted the importance of science & technology in the different field of society to achieve the goal of atma nirbharta.  In his concluding remarks, he urged students to come up with innovative ideas and sustainable technologies for brighter and better Arunachal.
