ROING, Dec 13: A two-day training, sensitization and capacity building programme on 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' was held on December 10 and 11 by District ICDS cell, Department of Women and Child Development. The programme was supported by district administration, Lower Dibang Valley.
The training was attended by ADC Tapik Pertin, district officials, CBOs, ICDS functionaries, Anganwadi workers and Ashas.
Welcoming the participants, CDPO Jikom Doye highlighted the importance of 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' and its implementation in the district.
Master trainer cum APO BBBP AK Battacharya gave a detailed insight into the scheme. A talk on PC and PNDT Act was given by Dr F Rehman, MO, District Hospital, Roing.
A talk on ‘Right to education with special focus on girl child and school dropout” was delivered by Basant Singh, Principal, DIET. A speech on girl and women related acts such as POCSO Act 2012, Juvenile Justice Act 2015, Domestic Violence Act 2005 and Sexual Harassment of Women at Work Place Act 2013 was given by Advocate Bahe Microw. The team also included the District Child Protection Unit.
