Itanagar, Dec 13: The All Arunachal Pradesh Wushu Association (AAPWA) today announced that a distinguished contingent of four elite athletes and a coach from Arunachal Pradesh has been selected to represent India at the 7th Nordic Open Wushu Tournament, slated to be held in Sweden from December 12 to 16.
This remarkable participation has been initiated, facilitated, and closely supervised by AAPWA, which remains steadfast in its mission to uplift and empower Wushu talent from the state. The entire preparation process has been conducted under the visionary leadership, strategic direction, and dedicated supervision of John Tara Bakey, General Secretary, AAPWA, whose relentless efforts have ensured that every athlete is fully equipped to compete at the highest level.
The all-women team comprises of Mepung Lamgu – Taichi Event; Mercy Ngaimong – Jianshu Event; Chera Loku – Taijijian Event; Onilu Tega – Below 52 kg Sanda Category accompanied by coach Maibam Premchandra.
The athletes have undergone intensive training, technical refinement, and high-performance conditioning, reflecting their deep commitment to excellence. Their selection stands as a testament to Arunachal Pradesh’s rapidly emerging stature as a powerhouse of Wushu talent in India, the sporting body said.
