ITANAGAR, Dec 11: The Arunachal Pradesh Indigenous Youth Organisation (APIYO) while addressing the media at the Arunachal Press Club demanded immediate halt and cancellation of an illegal construction of a Jama Masjid/Madrasa within the Twin Capital Complex, calling it a clear violation of norms and administrative procedure.
The organisation further urged the state government and district administration to identify and remove illegal Bangladeshi immigrants residing in parts of Itanagar and Naharlagun, describing it as a pressing issue with serious social implications.
To ensure regulatory clarity, APIYO pressed for official recognition of the two legally established Jama Masjids in the capital area, stating that proper acknowledgement will prevent misuse and confusion.
Highlighting concerns over unregulated public spaces, APIYO sought the immediate banning of weekly markets across the Twin Capital and nearby areas such as Doimukh and Hollongi. They cited overcrowding, law-and-order risks, and unchecked activities as key reasons.
Stating that the situation demands urgent and firm action, APIYO emphasized that protecting indigenous rights and maintaining administrative discipline must remain top priorities for the government.
