ITANAGAR, Sep 16: Tage Taki, Minister Agriculture & allied Departments and Bidol Tayeng, Secretary Agriculture, on September 15, led a team of officers on a one-day exposure visit to Rajahmundry, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh to visit integrated Oil Palm plantations and associated facilities developed by 3F Oil Palm Pvt. Ltd (3FOP).
The 3F Oil Palm company vide an MoU executed between State Government is also engaged in Oil Palm development in Lower Dibang Valley District and is currently all set to establish a fully integrated Crude Palm Oil factory in the month of October. The visit was undertaken to better understand the end-to-end value chain of Oil Palm ecosystem which is evidently successful in Andhra Pradesh that has the largest Oil Palm plantation in the country.
The team took an extensive tour to Oil Palm nurseries, plantation areas, intercropping with low volume - high value crops in Oil Palm, collection centers, crude palm oil processing factories including refining and palm oil fractionation facilities, palm waste-based power plant and also palm based Oleochemicals manufacturing facilities under operation of 3F Oil Palm Pvt. Ltd. which are sustainable in its operation and promising in context to the unique requirement for our farmers for a sustainable farm income in near future.     
The team also had an interactive meeting with Oil Palm farmers of the locality. 
The participating farmers advised the Minister and his team to have confidence on the Oil Palm crop and assured that, with support from the State as well as the Central government the farmers of Arunachal Pradesh will also be hugely benefited from Oil Palm in coming years. In view of farm land saturation in Andhra Pradesh, the interacting farmers also expressed their interest and intend to take up oil palm cultivation on lease basis in Arunachal Pradesh.
It is worth mentioning that, the current Oil Palm area in the State stands little over 4000 ha. An area of 1.33 lakh ha area is estimated to be potential for Oil Palm cultivation along the foot hills region of the State of Arunachal Pradesh, out of which the State Government envisages to achieve an area expansion of 40,000 ha area in the next 5 years to be funded under Govt. of India’s “National Mission on Edible Oil -Oil Palm” (NMEO-OP).
