Itanagar, Aug 31: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik (Retd.), has extended warm greetings to the people of the State, particularly the Adi brethren on the auspicious occasion of Solung. He expressed his hope that the vibrant festival would continue to strengthen our pride in the rich cultural heritage and timeless traditions of our State.
In his message, the Governor said that Solung is a cherished expression of the Adi community’s socio-cultural and spiritual life. Celebrated since time immemorial with traditional gaiety and enthusiasm, it reflects deep faith and gratitude towards nature and the divine. Solung reminds us of our inseparable bond with nature and the importance of living in harmony with it. It also preserves the wisdom, values and traditions inherited from our ancestors and provides an opportunity to pass this precious legacy to our children and youth. He urged the elders of the community to guide the younger generation to understand, respect and practice these traditions, ensuring that our cultural heritage remains vibrant and relevant.
On this festive occasion, I join my Adi brethren in offering prayers to ‘Kine Nane’, ‘Dadi Bote’, ‘Doying-Bote’ and all benevolent deities to bless humanity with peace, harmony, progress and prosperity. May Solung strengthen our cultural roots, unite our communities and inspire us to preserve our heritage for generations to come, the Governor wished in his message.
