ITANAGAR, Aug 16: The 72nd Independence Day was celebrated on Wednesday across the State with much pomp and gaiety. The Central function organized in Itanagar was addressed by Chief Minister Pema Khandu while Governor Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) and First Lady, hosted ‘At Home’ for a cross section of society at Raj Bhavan.

Chief Secretary Satya Gopal hoisted the tri-colour at the Civil Secretariat premises in presence of officers and officials of the Civil Secretariat, Itanagar. 

On the occasion a pledge was administered by the Chief Secretary to the government employees calling for full devotion and dedication to their duties and to ensure that the Team Arunachal endeavour is taken to a higher level of efficiency and excellence. 

 

YUPIA:   Minister of Environment and Forest, SJETA and WCD Nabam Rebia graced the occasion as chief guest at Yupia and unfurled the national flag. Main attractions of the day were march past by 11 contingents including ITBP, APP, NCC, NIT, NCC Boys and Girls team, Govt Hr. Sec. School Doimukh, Scouts and Guides, Govt HSS,Doimukh, VKV,Nirjuli, VKV Band Party,B.K.Mission,Midpu,JNV,Gumto, and Maharishi Vidya Bhawan,Doimukh, Taekwondo display by Sangey Lhaden Sports Academy, Karate display and cultural display by cultural troupes and school children of various schools and prize distribution.  
          


 
 

ROING: Local MLA Mutchu Mithi, unfurling the National flag, appreciated the public for being resilient and cooperative in withstanding the difficult times faced in the district. He said that it is the public who decides the future of the place and makes the place strong and resilient and conducive for development and progress.

 

 

MP Mukut Mithi, DC Mitali Namchoom, SP S. K. Sain and a host of dignitaries attended the celebration.

 

DAMBUK: MLA Gum Tayeng unfurled the tri- colour and addressed the gathered public. She enjoined all to promise to uphold communal harmony and unity prevailing in the area, district and the state. 

 

BOMDILA: Independence Day was celebrated at district headquarters Bomdila and in the rest of the 12 administrative centers under West Kameng with pomp and gaiety.

Highlighting the achievements of the Centre and the State government MLA Japu Deru extensively dealt on the various Central and state govt flagship programmes.

A total of 5 persons were given the State Commendation awards initiated by the state government and awarded to them during Republic Day 2018 and 2 progressive farmers were felicitated with the District Commendation certificates on the occasion.


Aalo: Jarkar Gamlin, Minister, Tax & Excise, Tourism and Cultural Affairs unfurled the flag and took salute from 32 contingents representing para military forces, police and various schools of Aalo. 
Gamlin also paid floral tributes to martyrs who laid down their lives to win freedom for us and spelt out various programmes and policies initiated by the govt. to ameliorate the condition of people.


Tezu: Minister Dr Mohesh Chai hoisted the National Flag here. Addressing the public, Chai explained the achievements of BJP government and improvement in law & order situation with the combined efforts of district administration and police personnel. 

 

 


At Tawang HQ, celebrations began with children taking out prabhat pherries shouting patriotic slogans. National flag was unfurled by local MLA Tsering Tashi amidst huge gathering at Parade Ground.

BUMLA: A Border Personnel Meeting (BPM) between Indian Army and Chinese People liberation Army troops was organized on the occasion. In last 28 years, the BPM mechanism has evolved into a vital platform for resolving local issues and fostering mutual confidence with a view to enhance peace and tranquility in the sector.

 

YINGKIONG: Minister, Health, RD, PR etc. Alo Libang paid homage to the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhiji and unfurled the national flag.  Altogether 16 individuals were given certificate of commendation / appreciation for achievement in various field and prizes for various competition in the day were also given away by the Chief Guest on the occasion.

 

PANGIN: MLA Tapang Taloh, hoisted the national tricolor at Pangin General Ground in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Rahul Singh, HoDs and officers, public leaders, GBs/HGBs from adjoining villages, staff from various departments, teaching faculty and students from various schools and general public. 

 

KAYING: National flag was unfurled by Minister of Power Tamiyo Taga. Red coats were distributed to HGB s of Kaying/Payum circle, felicitation of school toppers and cleanest village under Kaying/Payum circle was also done.

 

RUMGONG: The tricolor was hoisted by ADC Rumgong Tuli Gangkak.

Red coats were distributed to HGBs & GBs.

Boleng: The event was celebrated in a befitting manner under ADC Tayek Pado who hoisted the flag.

 

KHONSA: With the rest of the nation, the 72nd Independence Day was celebrated with great pomp and enthusiasm in Tirap district.

 

Local MLA Wanglam Sawin unfurled the national tri-colour and greeted the people on the occasion amidst huge gathering of villagers, business community, Govt. staffs, GBs, Ex-servicemen and people from all walks of life.

Reports of celebrations from all administrative outposts have also been received. At Deomali, Wangki Lowang, Minister (PHED) unfurled the national tri-colour.

 At Dadam, MLA Tirong Aboh unfurled the national tri-colour and the day was celebrated in a very befitting manner  at Soha and Lazu circles and concerned admin officers unfurled the tri-colour.

SAGALEE: Local MLA and former chief minister Nabam Tuki unfurled the Tri-colour here amidst a huge gathering. .
            The development of Arunachal Pradesh began during  the year 1972 when it was made a Union Territory, but the state has since made tremendous development in all fronts, he said.

MAHADEVPUR: Greeting the people of Lekang Circle on Independence day, Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein lauded all the participants, cultural troupes and students for joining the celebration with great enthusiasm. He also gave away Olympic Day Certificates to the students of Kick Boxing belonging to Club Mahadevpur who represented India in the International Martial Arts Championship 2018 held on 12-13 May at Phuentshelling City in Bhutan. He also gave away Commendation Certificates to the best ASHAs and Fish Farmers of  Lekang Circle.

YACHULI: The 72nd Independence Day was celebrated with huge enthusiasm here at Yachuli main ground on Wednesday. Local MLA, Likha Saaya who unfurled the Tri-color national flag in presence of HoDs, Students and the public in his address remembered the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters for our independence.

"We need to uphold the spirit of nationalism and work unitedly towards building a better Arunachal and country as whole where every citizen has a prosperous and dignified life so that the sacrifices made by freedom fighters do not go in vain,” he appealed.

Cultural display stalls set up by various government departments along with flagging-off ceremony of three Sumo for Public health centre of Yachuli, Yazali and Pistana etc which was followed by a friendly football between Chief Guest 11 and ADC 11 marked the day-long celebration.

13 Gaon Burahs and Gaon Buris recently appointed were also felicitated. The programme concluded with distribution of prizes of various sports and cultural competitions.

 

AT LIKABALI: MLA Kardo Nyigyor unfurled the national flag at Likabali, the headquarters of Lower Siang. In his address, Nyigyor highlighted various policies and programmes of the government and appealed all to avail the benefits. Colorful presentation of parades, patriotic song and dances, PT displays and mega dance marked the daylong celebration.

 

PASIGHAT: Pasighat joined the whole nation in celebrating the 72nd Independence Day on Wednesday in a befitting manner and enthusiasm. Pasighat MLA Kaling Moyong unfurled the national tricolour and inspected the gala march past presented by IRBn, NCC, Scouts & Guide, band party of various schools led by parade commander Inspector Michi Sambyo at the newly constructed Outdoor-Stadium.

Moyong greeted the mammoth gathering and conveyed his profound gratitude to the freedom fighters.  Patriotic songs and dances were presented by the school students. Amongst prominent personalities, DIG J. Nithalaia, SP Prashant Gautam, RTI Commissioner Nanom Jamoh, host of senior and retired bureaucrats, local officers and leaders were present on the occasion.

 

Ruksin: 37-Pasighat MLA Tatung Jamoh hoisted the national flag in presence of officers, leaders and public. Jamoh paid tributes to those who fought and made the supreme sacrifice to free the country from the British Raj. He highlighted various developments under taken by him under various govt flagship programmes.
