ITANAGAR, Jan 12: The National Youth Day-2023 was observed across the state with fervor to mark the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
With the theme “Vikasit Yuva, Vikasit Bharat”, the day was celebrated at Royal International School, Papunallah on Thursday by the Arunachal Pradesh State AIDS Control Society in association with Royal International School.  
Attending the programme as the Resource Person, Project Director Arunachal Pradesh State AIDS Control Society, Naharlagun Dr. Riken Rina said that youth are the future of the world. He asked the youth to differentiate between good and bad things in lives. Urging the youth to concentrate on studies, Dr. Rina said that the youth should do good to themselves, their body, their minds so that they can do good for society in future. To stay away from HIV and Drug Abuse, he asked the youth to remember the ABCDE, which stands for abstinence from pre-marital sex, B stands for be faithfull to ones sexual parter, C stands for consistent use of condom, D stands for don’t do drugs and E stands for elimination of HIV from Blood Transfusion.
The Principal of the Royal International School, S. Palit, in his speech said that the youth are the most powerful force to reckon with. But unfortunately most of the time people misuse the power of the youth for their vested interest. Youth need proper guidance so that they can contribute meaningfully to the society. He urged the youth to stay from HIV/AIDS and drugs.
Dy. Director (IEC) APSACS, Tashor Pali, also addressed the gathering.
ZIRO: The VKV Ziro celebrated the NYD which was marked by a district level ‘Traditional Dance and Drama Competition’ conducted to commemorate the 50 years of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari under whose canopy VKVs work in Arunachal Pradesh. A Science and Mathematics exhibition was also organized by the students which was witnessed by all guests and parents.
The program was graced by Lower Subansiri Additional Deputy Commissioner Millo Kojin as the chief guest and former State Election Commissioner and chairman Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture, Arunachal Chapter Hage Kojeen, IAS (retired) as the special guest.
Special guest Hage Kojeen stressed on the preservation, documentation and research on the indigenous cultural practices in North East and shared VKIC’s plans of conducting seminars for different tribes.
KHONSA: Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti, Khonsa celebrated National Youth Day which was graced by Deputy Commissioner Tirap, Hento Karga as chief guest and Er. Pulang Ngemu, Vibhak Sanchalak, TCL (Tirap, Changlang, Longding) as guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC lauded the Vivekananda Kendra for the selfless service being rendered  in man-making and nation building. He urged the youth of Tirap to channelize their energy in a positive way and stay away from anti social activities. He also advised the participants to uphold their culture which is their identity.
Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Girls' School, Khonsa also celebrated the day with enthusiasm.
Students & staff took out a procession and participated in literary competition on the life and message of Swami Vivekananda.  
At Ramakrishna Mission Narottam Nagar, Deomali, alongwith monks and employees of the school, the ADC Deomali, Vishakha Yadav, and Dr. Madhav Roy from Boston, USA, attended the celebration.
The Higher Secondary Section students gave speeches and sang a variety of songs about Swami Vivekananda. Dr. Madhav Roy and Miss Vishakha Yadav stressed the significance of Swamiji's message and its contemporary relevance. In his closing remarks, Swami Achyutshanandaji, Secretary, encouraged the youth to serve the nation as a fitting tribute to the great patriot monk.
