ITANAGAR, May 15: Family members of Everester Tapi Mra once again questioned the state government about its plans to resume Search & Rescue operation for the missing mountaineer and his side.
Addressing the media today at the Press Club, Yatok Mra Nilo, sister of Tapi Mra expressed her resentment over a statement made by the Minister of Sports & Youth Affairs regarding the rescue operation. “ The Minister in a press statement to a local digital channel stated that family members have submitted DPR for foot track amounting to Rs 5 Crore.  This is to clarify that the family didn’t submit any DPR; the Minister much clarify who has submitted the DPR," she said.
The missing mountaineer's sibling further said  that 40% of work on the foot track was done by the family with their own expenses. "Such a statement has hurt the sentiments of the family members. This allegation is more painful than losing a brother," she added.
The family said that they only want to know what happened to Tapi Mra and his assistant Niku Dao.   We cannot just let go and declare them dead unless there are some clues about what happened to both of them and that will only be possible if the government supports Search & Rescue operation to reach the main spot, added Yatok.
The family further added that if government help is not forthcoming by July 1 next, they will  continue the operation on their own expense.
