Itanagar, Nov 7: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik, PVSM, UYSM, YSM (Retd.), has extended his warm greetings and best wishes to the people of the State on the auspicious occasion of Diwali (Deepawali). He expressed his hope that this year’s festival of lights would bring peace, prosperity, happiness and renewed hope to every home and strengthen the bonds of love and harmony in our society.
In his message, the Governor said that Diwali symbolises the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance. It inspires us to embrace compassion, kindness and righteousness, while fostering unity, mutual respect and brotherhood among all communities. Let us also brighten the lives of those in need through generosity and selfless service, he said.
The Governor said that as we celebrate this joyous festival, I appeal to all citizens to observe a clean, green and pollution-free Diwali in the spirit of Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) and Nationwide Green Diwali Campaign 2026 – say No to Crackers, Yes to Clean Air. Let us avoid firecrackers, light traditional diyas and energy-efficient lamps, minimise single-use plastics, segregate waste and support local products. I encourage schools, colleges, resident welfare associations and community organisations to promote these eco-friendly practices and inspire collective action towards a cleaner environment, he said.
Let this Diwali be a celebration not only of light in our homes but also of responsibility towards nature and future generations. Every small step towards protecting our environment can make a meaningful difference. May the divine light of Diwali guide us towards a greener, healthier, more compassionate and prosperous Arunachal Pradesh, the Governor wished in his message.
