Itanagar, Oct 7 : In a continuing endeavour to promote education and empower marginalised communities, the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt Gen KT Parnaik (Retd.), has awarded scholarships to four meritorious students from the Puroik community in recognition of their outstanding performance in the Class X and Class XII board examinations. Each student will receive ₹7,000 from the ‘Governor’s Excellent Awards’ corpus fund established to support educational advancement among students of the Puroik Welfare Society.
The recipients, Miss Jeena Siji and Miss Naya Purik of Class XII, and Miss Charmak Soja and Miss Bissly Painchey of Class X, have demonstrated commendable academic achievement despite facing social and economic challenges.
While approving the scholarships, the Governor expressed happiness that all four awardees are girl students. He said their achievement was a source of pride and a positive example for other young girls of the community. He hoped the scholarships would encourage more students to pursue education with determination and confidence.
Emphasizing that education remains one of the most powerful instruments of social transformation and empowerment, the Governor wished the awardees continued success and urged them to inspire other children from the Puroik community to pursue their aspirations and contribute to the progress of the State.
