Yingkiong, Oct 7 : The District Task Force on Immunization (DFTI) meeting on Routine Immunization (RI) performance, Zero-Dose Implementation Plan (ZIP) 2026 and the Measles-Rubella (MR) Mop-Up Vaccination preparedness cum U-Mentor Workshop was held today. The meeting was organised by the District Health Society, Upper Siang in collaboration with UNICEF.
Chairing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner  Dr. Ashok Tajo reviewed the overall performance of Routine Immunization, the status of Zero-Dose children and preparedness for the Measles-Rubella Mop-Up vaccination campaign in the district. He urged all health facilities and concerned health personnel to make concerted efforts to achieve the targets set under the respective micro-plans.
Emphasizing the importance of effective immunization coverage, Dr. Tajo called upon the health functionaries to ensure that no eligible child is left behind and directed them to strengthen coordination, field-level monitoring and timely reporting. Earlier, Dr. Andeng Sitek, District RCH Officer-in-Charge, DMO, delivered the welcome address and briefed the participants on the objectives of the meeting. She also reviewed the performance of various health facilities and highlighted key areas requiring focused attention.
During the technical session, Dr. Arindam Sarbadhikari, WHO-RRT Consultant, made a detailed PowerPoint presentation on Routine Immunization performance up to the 2nd quarter of 2026–27 and the preparedness for the Measles-Rubella Mop-Up Vaccination Campaign in Upper Siang District.
Subsequently, the Medical Officers-in-Charge of Tuting, Mariyang, Jengging, Jeying and Katan blocks, including District Hospital, Yingkiong, presented the RI performance of their respective health facilities up to the 2nd quarter of 2026–27. The presentations provided an overview of immunisation coverage, achievements, gaps and areas requiring further improvement.
Maniram Limbu, District Coordinator, Upper Siang, also made a presentation on Data Quality Assessment (DQA), highlighting the importance of accurate, timely and reliable reporting for effective planning, monitoring and implementation of health programmes.
In the first session, Manas Mohan, State Consultant, RMNCHA, conducted a presentation and orientation on the U-Mentor Workshop, while Dr. Manas Kalita, SMO (DANO), Namsai, provided an orientation on National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS).
Programme officers, all Medical Officers In-Charges, all stakeholders members, HWOs and ANMs participated in the meeting. DIPRO
