ITANAGAR, Aug 16:
The Don Bosco Alumni (DBA) and Childline Itanagar celebrated the 203rd Birth Anniversary of Don Bosco, the Saint of the Young in a unique way by conducting a rally themed as “Ride Against Child Labour”, which was led by Arunachal Bullet Club here today.
About 25, ABC members rode through the city of Itanagar up to Mithun Gate and Chimpu to spread awareness on the issue.
Speaking at the inaugural, the Chief Guest of the day, Sunil Garg, IPS, Inspector General of Police called upon the members of the Salesian Society to continue in the path of untiring service of young people and children who are poorer and at risk.
He congratulated the Arunachal Bullet Club for joining hands with Don Bosco Alumni and Childline to create awareness on such a noble cause as child labour.
“There is no point of speaking of Young India if we do not address the menace of Child labour”, he pointed out. The IGP also assured all assistance from his department to Childline in dealing effectively with the aberration of child labour.
Fr. C. C. Jose, Director of Don Bosco College expressed great happiness in seeing the young Arunachal Bullet Club members turning up in good strength for the Ride Against Child Labour.
