ITANAGAR, Sep 14: “Rural Arunachal can only transform if the Arunachal Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission (ArSRLM) fulfils its mission,” said Rural Development Minister Bamang Felix while chairing a review meeting of ArSRLM, here today.
Various issues such as institutional building process, financial inclusion frameworks, Deen Dayal Upadhaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDUGKY), ArSRLM organizational structure, activities, recruitment process, etc., were reviewed in detail during the meeting.
Expressing satisfaction over the progress made so far by the ArSRLM, the Minister called on the officials to consider themselves as missionaries for transforming and reforming rural Arunachal and execute their duties accordingly.
Stating that ArSRLM activities not only facilitates sustainable financial empowerment of rural folks but also bring about positive behavioral changes among them, Felix asserted that the state government under Chief Minister Pema Khandu is keen towards providing all possible assistance and support to the ArSRLM.
Also, advising that political interference into the workings of the ArSRLM, especially in regard to the transfer and posting shall be discouraged, the Minister advised all  officials to consider entire geographical area of the state as their workplace.
He further advised the ArSRLM team to emphasize on involvement of rural womenfolk in their activities and undertakings while stating that empowering mothers is the first step towards transforming entire society and state. ArSRLM CEO-cum-SMD (in-charge) Dr Kego Jilen, who is also Director of the Department of Rural Development, encouraged the officers and officials to make ArSRLM the best performing team in the nation.

He advised them to be pro-active and committed towards their responsibilities and stated that the existence of ArSRLM depends on their performances.
Earlier, State Mission Manager (Livelihood) Jechonia Islary, who is also COO(P) in-charge, presented the current status of the ArSRLM.
SMM Islary informed that their target is to mobilize 1.30 lakh rural households into the SHG fold by 2025. Currently, more than 51000 households have been incorporated into the SHG fold.
He also informed that 38000 Mahila Kisans are covered under MKSP and AAP. Under DDUGKY, 780 rural youths have been trained with placement of 301 youths among the total trained, Islary informed while adding that MoUs will soon be signed with multiple companies and organization following which the number of rural youths getting placement will increase.
Mission Managers from several districts were also present in the meeting and highlighted their performances and challenges.
