ITANAGAR, Aug 9:A conglomeration of various tribal communities, the Arunachal Indigenous Tribes Forum (AITF) on Friday sought white paper from the state government on the number of Highway projects sanctioned, then executed including status, action plan and advancement made after TAH was approved in the state.

Regretting that due to the multi crore TAH compensation scam from Potin to Bopi, innocent people of the area have been deprived of essential road connectivity for no fault of theirs, the Forum asked the government to hand over the case to CBI saying that findings in SIC report were only the ‘tip of the iceberg’ and more remained to be unearthed.

In a press conference, President, AITF, Bengia Tolum also asked the Government to give clarification that whether the interest amount generated from 189 crore(compensation money )which has been kept in DC, Lower Subansiri’s account for several  years was deposited to the state exchequer and if deposited then to make public the entire bank transaction report.

Earlier the forum submitted a memorandum to governor in the morning seeking his intervention in immediate construction of TAH road from Potin to Pangin on war footing and to hand over the case to CBI to unearth the whole truth.

Pointing out that while the DC and DLRSO cannot be solely held responsible for the whole scam, Tolum hinted that there might be involvement of few influential people under guidance of whom the arrested accused executed the whole game.

Stating that SIC which is a government undertaking cannot be trusted to initiate actions against its own masters, Tolum alleged that the big shots involved in the scam were still scot-free while the DC and DLRSO were made scapegoat to save the masterminds behind the scam.

“We don't have faith in the justice system here to give justice to affected people and that is the reason we are demanding that the case be handed over to CBI to deliver immediate justice to affected people,” Tolum further added justifying its demands.

AITF, Spokesperson, Pura Tagung while condemning the brutal incident at Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh in which an innocent 35-year-old man from Arunachal Pradesh, Tage Dule, lost his life after being thrown out of a moving train has urged the state government to strongly pursue the matter with its counterpart including Indian railways and award the culprits involved in the gruesome act under strictest section of law.

Dule who was admitted at a local hospital in Gonda district and later referred to Shyama Prasad Upadhya Civil Hospital at Lucknow succumbed to his injuries on August 6 and his mortal remains was brought back today to his hometown Ziro.

Suspecting foul play, Tagung informed that there were burn injuries on his body which cannot be caused by falling from a train and demanded that the case be probed thoroughly to unearth the whole truth behind his mysterious death.

Extending solidarity to agitating SSA teachers associations, the AITF also appealed the government to fulfill their genuine demand for one time solution for regularization of SSA teachers and come out with a concrete policy to solve their problems.

It suggested that TET should not be made mandatory for in service SSA teachers however asked to make it compulsory for new recruits.
