NAHARLAGUN, Jan 3: A 30-year-old woman was killed in a tragic road accident when a tipper truck ran over her while she was trying to cross the road near Papu Nallah Bridge this evening.

The victim has been identified as Romik Yalok, 30, a resident of Jully road, Papu Nallah and a permanent resident of Ruhi village in Tali Circle under Kra Daadi district.

When contacted OC Naharlagun Police Station, N Riba, informed that the woman died on the spot when a Tipper truck ran over her at around 5 PM this evening. 

 ‘An FIR had been lodged by the victim’s brother Tame Romik and case has been registered vide Naharlagun Police Station case no- 1/18 u/s-279/304 (A) IPC and investigation is on,’ he informed.

Riba further added that after conducting formalities the body has been handed over to the family members.
