PASIGHAT, Oct 26:  Women Against Social Evils (WASE) which has been working towards eradicating the menace of drug abuse/trafficking in East Siang District all these years has submitted its report to the Director General of Police, Central Zone, East Siang District, Pasighat , DC and SP East Siang, Pasighat on Monday last.

While submitting the report, the team briefed the DIGP about the challenges faced by them as the main suppliers of drugs are mostly from Assam and place of procurement of the contraband items fall under the jurisdiction of Assam.

While speaking to this reporter, WASE, GS, Joya Tasung Moyong said they have been working since last 7 years and their report contains details of drug peddlers, their contact number, modus operandi with few videographic evidences. “We have submitted the reports to DIGP, DC and SP seeking their cooperation and support in taking up the matter with their Assam counterpart so that, we could work to zero upon the peddlers/traffickers”, she added.

Meanwhile, team WASE received a sum of Rs. 10,000 from Range Officer, Pasighat Range under Pasighat Forest Division here today for their role in recovery of 4 numbers of Gecko lizard and a pair of Elephant Tusks.
