ITANAGAR, Jul 20: Women against Social Evil (WASE), a Pasighat based NGO, in collaboration with Women and Child Development Department- East Siang organized awareness programmes  on Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO ) in various schools of Bodak and Ayeng villages under East Siang district.

During the awareness programme, General Secretary Joya Tasung briefed the students on issues like good and bad touch, sensitized them on how to react, how to report, whom to inform, etc.

Due to increasing cases of sexual harassment especially against minors,  WASE team has decided to organize awareness campaigns in different schools of Mebo sub-division under East Siang district, informed Tasung adding that the team will conduct similar campaigns in other villages of the district.
