KANUBARI, Nov 7: It is imperative that villagers must settle down at the foothill areas for sustainable economic

development, said Chairman APSCIT & eGovernance and MLA Gabriel Denwang Wangsu while addressing villagers of Banfera in Kanubari circle here on Monday after a whirlwind foot march to the area.

Accompanied by EAC N. Borang and host of HoDs, public leaders and officials, the MLA who was on
a month-long tour to his constituency to take stock of the development activities in the area, visited
the new settlement areas of Wunli, Laho and Pamtingshe under Banfera, the paramount village of Kanubari on Monday.

On the occasion, he called upon the Chief and Village Council (Ngowang) of Banfera to accord
traditional sanction and bless the new villages before formal inauguration.

‘One of the new settlements at Pamtingshe has been electrified and water supply sanctioned and
similarly other settlements too would be provided with basic amenities,’ Wangsu stated, while assuring all assistance for the development and growth of the new villages.

The MLA stressed that all the new settlements must be officially recognized and enlisted as census
villages and urged the villagers to voluntarily provide land in each of these villages for setting up
schools and other infrastructure.

Earlier, Wangsu met the Banfera village authorities and settled a dispute related to construction of a
new school building.

Later at a meeting with the officers here today, the MLA strongly urged upon the concerned departments to coordinate and work out plans for formal inauguration of the new villages after receipt of traditional sanction from the Banfera Village Council.
