ITANAGAR, Nov 20:Banwang Losu, who developed the Wancho Script, was conferred with prestigious award by Tata steel company limited with a certificate along with assurance of Samvad fellowship, in which the said company will extend monetary support to develop Wancho language.

The award was presented to him by Noble Peace Prize recipient, Professor Muhammad Yunus on November 19 last during the All India Tribal Samvad Conclave on Leadership" held at Jamshedpur.

Acknowledging Losu’s commitment towards protecting the rich tribal culture, Yunus termed his contribution as beyond gravity of appreciation and stated that such spirit should also be followed by every fellow Wanchos.

Further congratulating Losu, the student’s community of Longding district has also appreciated the contribution Rahul Ranadive and Shruty Parmar, who played prominent roles in promoting Wancho script and encouraging Losu to write the script.
