ITANAGAR, Oct 10: Veteran politician of the state and senior Adi member of Mechukha, Tadik Chije, who represented 33rd Mechuka Assembly Constituency for four terms since 1978 passed away today passed away this morning at Nirjuli after prolonged illness.

The former MLA of Mechukha, late Tadik Chije had served the state in various capacities including that of Deputy Speaker of Arunachal Pradesh State Legislative Assembly, Deputy Chairman Planning and Parliamentary Secretary for IPR & Printing. He was 63 and is survived by his wife and children including grand children.

Born on 2nd October 1954 to late Tame Chije and late Yaying Chije at Singbu village under Monigong Circle of West Siang district, late Tadik Chije attended his schooling at Govt Secondary School, Monigong and later acquired his BA degree from JN College, Pasighat.

He entered the state politics after getting elected to Provisional Legislative Assembly in 1975 representing 33rd Mechukha Constituency. Later, he was appointed as Deputy Speaker in 1978. He also held the office of Pro-term Speaker twice in 1999 & in 2004. He also held several other dignified post as fugitive leader of INC in his 35 years long political career.

He retired from active politics in 2009 and remained an inspiring figure to his region.

The Boh Ramo Bokar (Adi) Elite Society (BRBES) has expressed deep shock over the demise of former MLA and senior member of Mechukha Adi. The Society, in its condolence message, described late Tadik Chije as a kind and generous man besides being one of the best leaders the area had produced.  

Referring to the sacrifices made by him for the upliftment of the area in general and Boh Ramo Bokar (Adi) society in particular, the Society stated that as a MLA he had brought lots of development in the area.

His untimely demise has caused a great loss not only to the people of 33rd Mechukha Assembly Constituency particularly Adi community but the entire state in general. The Society prayed to the almighty god for eternal peace of his departed soul and also to give enough strength to the bereaved family member to bear the irreparable loss.  

The members of Mechukha Adi residing in Capital Complex under the banner of All Libo Ramo Bokar Welfare Society (ALBRWS) also deeply mourned the demise of Tadik Chije. Remembering late Chije as one of the greatest leaders of the area in particular and state in general, the members stated that his sudden and untimely demise has created a vacuum which cannot be filled in years to come.

The members prayed to the almighty Donyi-Polo for eternal peace of his departed soul.

ITANAGAR:Governor Brig. (Dr.) BD Mishra (Retd.) has expressed grief and mourned the sudden demise of former Minister Tadik Chije.

In his condolence message, the Governor said that Late Chije ji, a veteran politician was a distinguished social activist, served his Mechuka Assembly Constituency for four terms and made immense contribution towards the State in various capacities during his long and distinguished political career.

Joining the people of Arunachal Pradesh in praying to the Almighty God to give the bereaved family strength and courage to bear the irreparable loss, the Governor also offered his prayer for eternal peace of the departed soul.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu while expressing shock and grief over the passing of Tadik Chije, in a message this evening, said that the state has lost a seasoned politician and a first generation leader but was resolute that he will remain immortal for his contributions in the evolution of Arunachal Pradesh and welfare of his people.

“I know this would be the most trying times for you and your family members. I hope my humble words of consolation would ease the grief even if a little. In this moment of grief, me, my family, colleagues in the Government and people of Arunachal Pradesh extend our solidarity with you and share the pain inflicted on you by one of the greatest truths of life,” Khandu wrote in the condolence message addressed to Late Chije’s eldest son.
