NAMSAI, Jan 10: Condemnation is pouring in following the mysterious death of 10-year-old Janki Manyu at a private hostel in Namsai on January 9 last.

All Mishmi Students Union, in its representation to Officer In-charge, Police Station Namsaidemanded free and fair investigation on the whole episode to unearth the truth. “We are shocked to learn about the unfortunate incident and we demand impartial enquiry and the said hostel must be sealed till investigation is complete,” AMSU said in its statement.

Questioning the hostel authority for not informing the police the very moment the girl was allegedly found hanging as claimed by the school authority, AMSU said such suspicious move of the hostel authority points that they tried to wipe out evidence.

Condemning the incident, All Namsai District Students Union (ANDSU) also demanded proper enquiry on the incident.

Meanwhile, Official source informed that owner of the Kids Home hostel has been arrested and interrogation is going on.

On January 9 last, Janki Manyu a class V student was allegedly found hanging in the hostel toilet. However parents of the deceased claimed it as murder and filed FIR in Police station Namsai, accordingly a case under section 302 has been registered.
