ITANAGAR, Oct 24:Questioning delay in constructing the proposed Government Engineering College at Toru under Sagalee, the Sagalee Students Union in a release has alleged that despite approval given in 2013, the concern authority is yet to construct the much sought college.

Demanding early start of the construction, it also claimed that an amount of Rupees 26 crore had already been sanctioned for the project, but till date not a single work has been carried out.

Highlighting plight of the land donors, it disclosed that the villagers generously donated their ancestral land well in advance for the development purpose with a hope that the establishment will provide employment opportunities to unemployed youth and poor students of the area.

It further alleged that due to delay in executing the project, the villagers are facing untold grievances as they cannot use the donated land anymore.
