PASIGHAT, Jul 11:  Alleging department of education here under Rastriya Madyamik Siksha Abhiyan (RMSA) of violating modalities of recruitment for the recently held interview of Tours & Travel Teachers (TTT) and others, the All Bogong Students’ Union (E) has appealed DC, Pasighat to declare the interview null & void and demanded for fresh interview again.

In a letter to Dy. Commissioner, Pasighat on Monday, the union said that, out of many applicants under TTT post, only 27 candidates were shortlisted for appearing the interview. But in the later stage another 3 candidates were picked up from the rejected candidates while depriving other rejected candidates. And out of officially shortlisted 27 with additional 3 candidates totaling to 30, only 2 candidates were actually passed and rest was failed. But to meet up the total post of 9 under TTT, 7 failed candidates were also made to pass the interview. The union has also alleged the department of opening and leaking question papers.

When contacted for his reaction over the allegation and if malpractices occurred, DDSE, Pasighat Jongge Yirang clarified that, there was no such malpractice. He accepted that, 3 more candidates were picked from the rejected list but it was done on approval of the higher authorities. “There is no question of question paper leakage as only candidates passed and rest 7 was chosen after proper scrutiny as per direction of the higher authorities so as to fill up the district quota. If something wrong happened, I welcome an independent enquiry committee/agency to investigate the process of interview”, added Yirang.
