Claiming that the cremation cum burial ground located at the heart of Daporijo Town is causing nuisance and health hazard to the public, the Students Union Movement of All Arunachal on Saturday has demanded its shifting away from residential area.

 

Informing that few people have also started occupying the said land by demolishing the boundary wall, the union requested the Deputy Commissioner, Upper Subansiri to save the public property and initiate action against the encroachers.

 

Also demanding the DC to take action against contractors and associates for not completing the outdoor stadium within stipulated time, the union alleged that department of urban development had already issued NOC to contractors regarding payments for the construction.

 

Drawing the attention of DC towards irregular and contaminated water being supplied to the residents of Daporijo, the union requested him to properly monitor and issue necessary direction to PHE department to ensure clean water supply. It also urged the DC to direct the DUDA for proper maintenance of garbage.

 

Immediate start of the construction of the Trans Arunachal Highway road within Daporijo Town, sufficient manpower and machineries for the maintenance work of TAH road from Bopi to Tai road etc were among its other demands.
