DOIMUKH, Jan 27:
An unidentified dead body of a male in decomposing condition was found at the bank of Pare River at Midpu area, Doimukh police said on Saturday.
When contacted SP, Papum Pare, Tumme Amo informed that the body was of a male around 50 years of age and recovered on January 26 by police at around10 AM after being informed by locals.
The SP informed that the man's identity and cause of death is not known at the moment due to the condition of the body and identification could not be established even after showing it to nearby locals.
“The person may have been dead more than a week ago,” said SP adding that the body has been forwarded to RK Mission Hospital for autopsy and shall be kept there for 72 hours for its identification.
Meanwhile appealing people to help Doimukh Police in identifying the body, Police officer, Doimukh,PS, P Payeng said that deceased was wearing green shirt and grey pant. The body will be disposed off accordingly after post mortem, if identification cannot be established within next 72 hours, he added.
A case of unnatural case have been registered at Doimukh Police Station vide Case No-1/18 u/s-174 CrPc.
