ITANAGAR, Jun 1:
Various unemployed engineering associations under the banner of joint core committee(JCC) on Saturday asked the state government to declare one-time relaxation for Department of RWD,UD and housing to conduct the cancelled JEs(Civil ) examination citing many aspirants will exceed their age limit if recruitment process is delayed further.
In a press conference, secretary, JCC, Goda Dinung while welcoming the government decision to do away with department recruitment of Group –B (non gazette) Group –C, however expressed reservation that the decision was taken without looking at the plight of hundreds of unemployed engineers.
Asserting that the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission is already overburdened with many pending recruitments, Dinung lamented that if the recruitment is conducted through the Commission, then it would take months and many will become over-age to sit for the examination.
" The only option now left is for the government to relax the age limit of Engineers from 40 yrs to 45yrs (+5yrs - relaxation for ST) or else one time relaxation be given to the department to conduct the interview of JEs (Civil) instead of APPSC,” he asserted.
He also showed the reporters the record of current numbers of unemployed youth in the state which stood at 52,232 and termed it as alarming.
“In the backdrop of this unemployment scenario, delaying the recruitment at this point of time is not sensible and reasonable at all,” he stated.
He pleaded the government to declare onetime relaxation so that maximum numbers of students can avail the opportunity to take part in JEs exam.
He also lamented that the applicants are disappointment over the cancellation of an advertisement made by APPSC for recruitment of JEs under sports quota dated 17 May 2018 which was later handed over to UD, Housing department after aspirants filled up the forms.
Ridiculing the whole process, the committee lamented that again the applicants have to fill up forms thereby wasting their precious time and money.
While cautioning that the committee is prepared to go to any length to ensure aspirants are not subjected to any form of prejudice and injustice, the Committee stated that they will wait till next cabinet meeting to give ample time to legislators to take a decision on the matter.
“If cabinet fails to initiate any action till next meeting then we all will surrender our Degree/Graduation certificate to seek justice,” the committee affirmed.
