ITANAGAR, Feb 5: The State Cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, took  significant measures aimed at fostering the comprehensive development of Arunachal Pradesh. Among the pivotal decisions made, the Cabinet has granted approval for the introduction of the Arunachal Pradesh (Re-organization of Districts) (Amendment) Bill, 2024 in the Legislative Assembly.
Speaking to the media, Government Spokesperson and also Home Minister Bamang Felix informed that, the proposed bill outlines the establishment of the Keyi Panyor District, segregating it from the Lower Subansiri District, with its district headquarters situated at Yachuli Circle, specifically in the Ter Gapin — Sam Sath area.The Cabinet emphasizes the importance of respecting and upholding traditional boundaries for the collective benefit of both communities. Additionally, 67 new posts, spanning Group A, Group B non-gazetted, Group C, MTS, and ALCs, have been sanctioned.
Another notable decision involves the formation of the Bichom District, carved out from East Kameng and West Kameng districts, with Napangphung designated as the district headquarters. This initiative aims to enhance accessibility to remote areas and expedite economic development, added Felix.
Specific measures for Bichom district include funding for the Eklavya Model Residential School in Bana and the maintenance of the existing Bana EAC HQ status. The Cabinet also underscores the preservation of the status quo for the ZPM of Bana block and the issuance of LPC for land/farms of Nyishi individuals residing in the Aka area. Moreover, a survey and preparation of a DPR for road construction from NH 13 to Richukrong CO HQ have been approved to enhance connectivity.
Felix further added that, to strengthen Fire and Emergency services in the state, the Cabinet has given the green light for the creation of 53 additional posts across various categories. This bolstered manpower will be strategically deployed at heliports and airports under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS-UDAN).
Further enhancing the state's judicial infrastructure, the Cabinet has granted approval for the establishment of new Judicial Courts, accompanied by the creation of 103 posts of various categories, he added.
Additionally, the Cabinet has approved The Arunachal Pradesh Lokayukta (Amendment) Bill 2024 and the amendment of the Arunachal Pradesh (Land Settlement and Records) Act 2000 (Act No. 10 of 2000). These bills are slated for discussion and assent in the upcoming budget session.
The State Cabinet expresses its commitment to these initiatives, envisioning a transformative impact on the state's overall development and prosperity, stated Felix.
Among others, Minister Sports Mama Natung, Minister Education Taba Tedir and Minister Agri & Allied Tage Taki also spoke on the occasion.
