NAHARLAGUN, Oct 17:  Audio and trailer of the first ever Nyishi-Apatani feature film titled ‘Yamii’ was on Saturdayreleased by Nyishi Elite Society (NES) general secretary Heri Maring in an impressive function held at a city hotel here.

Addressing a large gathering of movie and music lovers as chief guest, Maring, who termed ‘Yamii’ as the first ‘official’ Nyishi-Apatani feature film lauded the efforts of the crew members for coming up with a film which aims to bridge the relationship of the two communities.

He further called for strengthening the bond of the two tribes by maintaining cordial relationship with each other.

Echoing Maring, Tanw Supun Dukun (TSD) general secretary Tapi Tai in his speech as guest of honor also advocated for preserving the age-old social relation the two tribes share with each other.

Earlier where film producer Pate Tajuk welcomed the guests, film’s project adviser cum controller Jikke Tania presented before the audience, the objectives behind making the inter-tribe movie.

Yamii director James Teli’s proposed the vote of thanks.

Written by one Sonil Nabam, Yamii is scheduled to release across the state sometime between the end of December and the first week of January next year.
