ITANAGAR, Sep 12:The Department of Tourism, under the guidance of Secretary Tourism & Planning, Dr. Joram Beda, along with Delhi Tourism Office, Arunachal Bhawan, New Delhi participated in ‘’North East Calling’’, the Destination North East Series at India Gate on September 9-10 last organized by Development of North East Region (DoNER).

The event showcased various features of North East Region in order to attract investments in  tourism, skill development , horticulture & floriculture, medicinal Plants, bamboo development , culture and heritage and above all organic farming.

The objective of North East Calling was to showcase North East States as potential destination for Tourism and promote the Economy.

Several Sates' Self Help Groups including NERAMAC and NEHHDC had also participated along with eight North-eastern States. Highlights of the event included varieties of Cuisine, Handlooms & Handicrafts, Designers from different States Tourism and B2B Summits.       

Many curious travellers were seen outside the Arunachal Tourism stall, showing keen interest on travelling to the state. The questions mostly hovered on was acquiring of Inner Line Permit/PAP/RAP etc and the number of days needed to travel to Arunachal Pradesh.

The two-day event was inaugurated by Union Minister of State (I/C) Ministry Of DoNER, MoS PMO Personnel, Dr Jitendra Singh  along with Naveen Verma, Secy Ministry Of DoNER and Gautam Chintey, Advisor, North Eastern Council.
