ZIRO, Nov 13:The 3rd edition of Mission Clean Kley River, a calendar event of Ziro Valley drew thousands of participants cutting across all walks of life.
An initiative of the Apatani Youth Association three years ago, this massive social service program aims to clean the Kley River and its tributaries which is the lifeline of Ziro Valley.
President AYA Taku Chatung expressed gratitude to the District Administration and the PHED department for its unconditional support to the cause of a cleaner Ziro. He further appealed to the public to pledge to not pollute the rivers. ‘As responsible citizens we need to change our mindsets and inculcate social responsibilities,’ he further added.
The entire 21km stretch of the Kley river and its tributaries was cleaned today.
