TEZU, Nov 30:In the wake of reports of illegal felling of trees in Paya and Haju forest reserve areas in Sunpura circle, Minister AH&V Research and Art & Culture Dr. Mohesh Chai along with Deputy Commissioner Lohit, Karma Leki and Superintendent of Police Isaac Pertin made a field visit to get first-hand information today.
The team carried the inspection up to the border with Assam and Lower Dibang Valley to check and verify the report and discovered several stumps of trees.
The Minister expressing grave concern on the matter directed District Forest Officer Tezu to immediately establish picket and conduct patrolling of the area by forest personnel. He also directed the DFO to block the Kutcha road constructed illegally by the miscreants.
SDO Kajal Karmakar, ZPM Sunpura Bikeso Tega, District Forest Officer, Police team and Forest officials accompanied the team led by Dr. Chai.
Earlier, ZPM Sunpura, Bikeso Tega had written about the illegal activity and brought it to the administration’s notice.
