ITANAGAR, Nov 30:Secretary, Education, Bidol Tayeng on Thursday wrote to Principal Secretary Education, Himachal Pradesh seeking his immediate attention over the reported assault on one, Gobin Niji, from Arunachal by a group of students on the midnight of November 26 last.

Niji, an architectural engineering student of Goyal Shimla University was brutally beaten by a group of students from the same university where he was studying. The student is said to be in critical condition and currently admitted in PGIMER, Chandigarh.

In his letter, Tayeng has also requested the state government of Himachal Pradesh to immediately intervene in the matter and ensure that life of victim is saved and proper medical facilities are made available to him.

Further expressing dismay over the incident, Tayeng urged the Himachal government to put a check on such incidents and book the culprits immediately under strict section of law.

Meanwhile, national dailies have reported that four students were arrested today for the assault.

Fourth-year engineering students, Lucky Dorje (22), Kin Jog Tinley (25) and Chopel (21) from Bhutan, and Tashi alias Sonu (26) from Himachal Pradesh's Chamba have been arrested, the police said.
