ITANAGAR, Jul 20: An awareness programme-cum-workshop on North East Industrial Development Scheme (NEIDS), 2017 was conducted here today.
Arunachal Minister for Industry Tamiyo Taga urged the departmental officers and entrepreneurs to make tireless efforts to establish more and more small-scale industries in the state. The Minister informed officers and entrepreneur trainees that under the Act East Policy of the Union Government an amount of Rs. 60,000 crores have been allocated for NEIDS.
Taga announced that there are more than 100 schemes under the industrial policy of the NDA government and for the implementation of such schemes the officers and entrepreneurs are required to be well trained. Most of these are bank loan related schemes but some of the banking institutions are not so co-operative.
“Our state is suitable for cane, bamboo and agro-based industries and since the state is not so well developed in power, road communication, transportation, we should encourage small-scale industries and not heavy industries,” the minister stated.
Earlier, Under Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Govt. of India, Arun Kumar explained about seven incentives which can be availed by an eligible industrial unit through Power Point Presentation. Special Secretary, Industry and Commissioner, Industries, Marnya Ete also addressed the trainees.
