ITANAGAR, Jul 19: The Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee (PAJSC), Vice Chairman Tadak Nalo on Friday announced his exit from the committee the which has been spearheading the cash for job scam involving the state’s highest recruiting body the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission for the last two years. He further announced plans to join politics by floating a new regional party Arunachal Frontier Tribal Front (AFTF).
Addressing the media at the press club here today, Tadak Nalo said that during the last two years of fighting against the paper leakage issue, he had gained more insights about the prevailing system of the state. The system has been corrupted from the depths. And, to change the system, someone has to enter into the system, and be part of the system, he said.
He said that the main agenda of the AFTF will be to fight for tribal rights, to raise regional issues. Most importantly, the party will work on issue-based cases and against the prevailing corruption practices in the state.
“To be very specific, we have not entered into politics merely to contest in state elections and earn money. Our agenda and voice during elections will be issue-based concerning our own people,” he said, appealing to the youths to join the party to change the state.
Sharing his experience as the vice chairman of PAJSC, Nalo said that there is no solution through dharna, protest and agitations to resolve any issue in the state. The only option is to be part of the system to address the entire issues related to the state and its people.
For the past 2 years, PAJSC has been raising the issue relating to the APPSC paper leakage. Till date, the demands relating to the scam have not been addressed by the state government.
No individual, political party, student organization, or any community-based organization is raising their voice against the prevailing state issue. The issue related to the paper leakage, dual PRC and ST, land rights, education, healthcare, unemployment, etc.
“The need to bring the state under 5th or 6th schedule of the Indian constitution is important. The resolution passed by the state government to include our state under it was just a gimmick. Despite the passage of four years, there is no update on it,” he said.
Likewise, there are uncountable yet visible issues prevailing in the state that no one cares to voice or raise. And, the most important is the implementation of Article 371 (H) in the state.
Kiren Rijiju, the MP from the state who is part of the union cabinet till date has been silent on the matter. Inner Line Permit is not a permanent solution to save tribal identity  Nalo said.
He also spoke on the issues relating to Chakma-Hajong and Tibetan refugees which are still to be addressed. The entire issue in the state has not been resolved because of the lack of political will, he said.
