KHONSA, Jul 23: The grand finale of the 7th Subroto Mukherjee Cup Football tournament was graced by SP Tirap, Jitendra Kumar Meena at Khonsa Nehru Stadium today amidst a mammoth gathering of players, supporters and spectators.

Speaking on the occasion, SP Meena said that students and youths of Tirap district in particular and  the state of Arunachal Pradesh and the country in general are inspired by renowned sportspersons like Subroto Mukherjee, Baichung Bhutia, M. Vijayan, Sunil Chetri, Mary Kom and Hima Das, to name a few.

In his welcome speech, Sanwang Hosai, Chairman of the organizing committee of the 7^th Subroto Mukherjee Cup Tournament briefed about the conducting of the tournament. The tournament was declared opened by Tirap Deputy Commissioner PN Thungon who had also donated a cash incentive of Rs. 50,000 as prizes to the best performers of the tournament.
